Senior Interactive Designer

The Senior Interactive Designer position at Carbone Smolan Agency runs the design process for web- and interactive-focused projects and is responsible for bringing an expertise of the web & digital design world (including mobile space) to new & existing projects. While this is a design position, no coding is needed, candidate should understand the capabilities and best practices relating to the use of front-end interactive technologies, including HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Flash, AJAX, iOS.

Education: Bachelor's Degree (Design / Interactive)
or equivalent experience.

Experience: Minimum 7 years web design experience. Minimum
3 years managing direct reports in a leadership role within a creative team in a relevant creative background. Proven talent in graphic
and interactive design. Experience overseeing or editing copy a plus. Mastery of appropriate tools & technology. Advanced Photoshop, with excellent digital photo-manipulation and compositing skills. Working knowledge of InDesign, Flash, and Illustrator. Understanding of the capabilities and best practices relating to the use of front-end Web technologies, including HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Flash, AJAX.

Important attributes: Sophisticated sense of design/style. Impeccable design fundamentals (type, image, color). Proven ability to translate complex design challenges into clear, customer-friendly experiences. Discerning eye for photo editing. Collaborative, inclusive and flexible team member. Resourceful self-starter who gets things done. Highly organized with extreme attention to detail. Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Positive, constructive approach. Strong communication and presentation skills required.

Primary responsibilities: Primary Design lead for long-term/
high-profile projects for new and existing brands. Construct sitemaps
and wireframes with an eye towards usability and solid information architecture. Lead the web and mobile design on large-scale branding projects. Art direct and produce style guidelines. Manage and monitor design team workflow. Work with external development teams to ensure accurate final production of site designs. Act as creative lead and interface with cross-functional leadership. Design and oversee a new CSA site. Manage team of 1-3 designers for larger projects. Motivate team members with constructive feedback.
