Leslie Smolan and Carla Miller Judge PDN Photo Annual 2008

Contest Showcases Photographers’ Best Work from Around the World New York, NY, June 6, 2008 – June 18, 2008 – Leslie Smolan, Founding Partner and Chief Strategy Officer and Carla Miller, Design Director, of Carbone Smolan Agency (CSA), served as participant judges in Photo District News Magazine’s ‘PDN Photo Annual 2008’. The much-anticipated annual contest and awards event provides a forum for established and aspiring photographers, awarding cash prizes, recognition and scholarships to the winners. The awards event was held in New York on May 13th, 2008, winning photos and photographer profiles were featured in the May issue of PDN Magazine.

Smolan and Miller judged the works of over 1,000 photographers for the contest, joining a panel that included professional photographers, producers, publishers, professors and curators. “I was extremely impressed by the quality of the work and creativity of ideas presented for PDN’s Photo Annual 2008,” said Smolan. “The bold experimentation of professional photographers and the fresh approach of students and new photographers bodes extremely well for the industry.”

PDN magazine is an award-winning monthly magazine for the professional photographer that has covered industry news and featured the work of photographers for over two decades. PDN Photo Annual 2008 is one of several contests the magazine sponsors to champion the work of photographers of all levels of expertise, from masters to students.
